ANKOROMOCHI, Day of the OX in midsummer

Red Bean Jam Rice Cake (Ankoro mochi あんころ餅)
Today is a Day of the OX in midsummer, so most people eat nutritious foods, because of overcome hot hot and humid summer!
The most famouse food of this day is boiled eel (unagi no kabayaki うなぎの蒲焼), so if you come to Japan on that day(repeat yearly variation), you'll see lots of "boiled eel".
I didn't know other foods, but there are other nutritious foods for today, like freshwater clam, egg, and (sticky) rice cake! Ankoro mochi, is Kansai and other few region custom, so I didn't know till now. It's nice custom!!
