Tea ceremony
Thursday is one of my favorite day, becaouse of the tea class.
I started tea lesson since 2003, wow 5 years! 5 yearas for me is qiute long, but for tea world 5-year is just a baby. Sadou 茶道,tea ceremony, the way of tea, it's never end. So around me there are so many tea mates over 60 sometimes 80+! but they are still learnig, never end. To hear this, maybe you noticed something.... yes it's very close to Buddhism idea. The way of tea represents small cosmos in the tea room, and contain all japanese art and culture. I can't explane only few words or sentenses, maybe I need few days, and need years to feel the real spirit. When I met sadou, I was absolutely-fascinated with it. Now my life is full of tea ideas/sprit! I can't back the life without tea! :D
It is shame, even in Japan, not everyone know about it... Nor did I. I didn't know about it at all and not so much curious, my image of it just "money-world"
It is true you need some money to do tea ceremoney and some people use Lots of money to do it. Sometimes tea ceremony is the place of fashon show or show of their wealth. Thta's so bad..., but back to the original idea, it is "Hospitality". Enjoy this moment with someone with tea and foods. (Formal tea ceremony served with tea-ceremony dishes.) Ichi go ichi e 一期一会 is the word of that often used by tea ceremony. It means"Onece in a life time" Prepare the tea, sweets, dishes, utensils, room, garden, flowers, scroll picture, and so on. Everything is for "Onece in a life time" special moment with someone.
But it is not the meaning of luxury. To give someone a warm welcome, and enjoy together is the most important thing! Maybe only tea and smile will be a best welcome to someone. :D
Well, time to go to the class!
Nobody can repeat the same day. Every single moment is only one time, so Have a nice day and enjoy this precious moment!!
