tea ceremony in Joshoji-temple
Today is 1st Sunday so I went to Joshoji-temple常照寺 to tsukigama月釜 "tsukigama" is a casual tea ceremony which is held with the schedule at the same time each month. Joshoji-temple's tsukigama is one of my favorite tea ceremony. It is really calm place(except cherry blossom and autumn leaves season ), good place to feel wabi sabi侘び寂び wabisabi is "taste for the simple and quiet" and "deep mysterious beauty" and nature. I like it! but.... to go there is little bit hard work. From my place to there is only 6km not so far but, little bit high :-/ Usually I use bicycle to go anywhere in Kyoto in my everyday life even I wear kimono, so today I also used my bike, well.... hard work!! But after the hard work, it enhanced enjoyment more and more :D maybe not so bad :P
Joshoji-temple is famouse for cherry blossom and Yoshino-dayu吉野太夫. Yoshino-dayu is afamouse high-class courtesan named Yoshino. She is vey beautiful and also smart, excel at any art, like waka poems, linked poetry, seventeen-syllable verse, Japanese harp,Japanese lute, Shinto flute, art of calligraphy, Japanese flora art, tea ceremony, game of go, Japanese chess, and so on. Tsukigama is held to cherish the memory of her. April tsukigama is special named Yoshinodayu Hana Kuyou吉野太夫花供養. You'll see real courtesans in trafitional costumes. And also you get serve tea from them. Off course it costs more than usual :P IMAGES
